Grabbed my Vader "peekbuster" and Lego Stormtrooper ornaments this weekend.  I haven't tested out the Vader to see what it sounds like - I'm assuming it'll be The Force Unleashed-ish sort of Vader voice, but I wanted to check it out ahead of time.  At least in the Brick Hallmark, I took the last one of each of these.  While they'll obviously restock, I was surprised that they were gone so quickly, as I'm there at opening!

Picked up Hammerhead, Darth Maul and Grievous over the weekend.

I'll be back in October for the Vader "peekbuster" and Lego stormtrooper.

Day after Christmas for the Interceptor and Han on tauntaun - can't throw down $30 and $33, respectively, on two ornaments that I know will be available for half price on 12/26.  (At least, that strategy's worked for the last 3 years or so!)

Anyone else pick up any ornaments. I picked ip Hammerhead this past Sunday. I also bought Maul. I'll likely get some others later.

Good for Hallmark, I suppose.  Bad for me, and for fans who aren't able/can't afford to go to the conventions.  I haven't been able to get any of these exclusives, but I would love to.  People point to eBay, but ornaments are expensive enough at retail (for me, anyway) - paying more than double (and often higher) for ornaments just isn't an option.  So, no IG-88, no Dengar, and none of the repaints for fans like me.  Part of me doesn't even want to know what they will be including in future conventions, because it's just another reminder of something that I can't have.

Sneak peeks of what WILL be available at the store for 2012, though, sound great.  Oooo, Han on Tauntaun....[insert Homer Simpson drooling sound]

Article about Hallmark's dive into convention exclusives:

Figural ornaments will be exclusive at SWCVI next year.

As of this morning, the Hallmark store at the Moorestown Mall still had 2 or 3 Bossk ornaments, in case anyone still needed it.

Didn't make it to a Hallmark this weekend, luckily I had my mother pick me up the Bossk ornament at the store she frequents...will definitely pick up the Yoda, and the Lego Vader, but Slave I and the Han/Greedo I may wait till clearance time...

It used to be that only 1 of the ornaments was priced in the $30 range, the last couple years there have been multiple...

Also picked up my Bossk and also got the Yoda.  The last couple years, I have rolled the dice on the vehicle and lights/voice scene for the day after Christmas at half off - a little scare last year, but it wound up fine - which means I roll the dice again.

I'll go back in October for the Lego Vader when he's released.

After that, I'll dream about somehow coming across a SDCC Dengar/IG-88 that wouldn't cost me an extra mortgage payment.

I feel so pedestrian compared to you guys who have been in on the Hallmark thing for a while!  My g/f got me the snowspeeder ornament as a Christmas gift.  NOW, I may actually have to put up a Christmas tree this December! ;D

Picked up Bossk yesterday.  Also picked up a Yoda, couldn't resist.  The more expensive ones I usually try to wait untilt they go 50% off.

Wow, so just saw that Hallmark will be at SDCC again, but unlike past years where the exclusives have been repaints, it's all-new this year - Dengar and IG-88.  Unbelieveably disappointing that I'm not going to be able to get these (well, without plopping down three digits on eBay, which I can't afford).

Picked up my Lando at opening on Saturday.  By the time I left the store 20 minutes later, there was 1 left.

Also picked up the Boba/Han and pilot Luke.  Gotta hold off until the half price sale for the Emperor and the snowspeeder.  At around $30 a pop, it's too much for an ornament these days.  I always take the chance, but these big guys always seem to be available the day after Christmas at at least one of the stores around me.

I'll do the same with all the superheroes - nothing's new enough to justify paying full price (blue Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Iron Man, Indiana Jones).  If I nab 'em on 12/26, fabulous.  If I miss any, it's not the end of the world as the ones I already have of these guys are pretty similar (except the Spiderman/Green Goblin, which would be the only one I'd regret).

Had my daughter with me for the first time during premiere weekend.  To see her get excited because we found Lando and Luke was priceless.
