The 1973 TV movie Gargoyles is now available on Netflix.

Stan Winston did the creature effects and it has a young Scott Glenn (The Right Stuff) in it.  It was decent, very short though.

Loved this as a kid, haven't seen this film since.

I Spit on Your Grave

A worthy remake.  More intricate than the original.  It does take a while for the spitting to begin, but once it does....

Yeah...not much change really.  Little different from the original.

In the remake she kills them in accordance with what they did to her.  I don't remember that from the original (just remember the bathtub scene haha).

Watched HP Deathly Hollow last night.  Not sure why they want to drag it out into 2 parts.  Also watched Tron last week.  Some really good movies are coming out on Blu ray.

So after seeing clips of it online for years, and having seen the original, I decided to watch Nicolas Cage's "The Wicker Man".

The 2nd half of the film Mr. Cage turns in the one of the greatest acting performances in history (rivalling Adrienne Barbeau in "Creep Show")

He slugs three woman, including the lovely Leelee Sobieski and the famous bear punch.

And on top of that delivers such classics as:
"How did get burned? How did get burned!"
"Oh god no!"

plus the DVD version features:
"No, not the bees. Not the bees!"

In the commentary the director mentions how Mr. Cage brought more to the role than was written on the paper.  Let me say he brought more the role than could be written on any paper.

Unstoppable:
Much like a runaway train it takes a while to get going, but overall is a good movie.

Jackass 3:
A worthy threequel, very gross, very funny.

Very short, tight film.  Kept you intrigued.  I enjoyed it.

The Town is a very good flick.  Drama, action and suspense.

Thanks Roland.

Wal-Mart had several of the DC animated movies on sale, so I picked up Green Lantern: First Flight, Super Man/Batman: Public Enemies, Batman: Under the Red Hood. All were well done. Green Lantern was decent, but didn't think that Christopher Meloni was right for thr part as Hal, but Victor Garber was good as Sinestro. I liked Under the Red Hood best. Bruce Greenwood did a decent job as Batman and Jensen Ackles was great, like him on Supernatural and the Red Hood character had the same kind of attitude.

Antichrist:
The controversial foreign film was extremely graphic in a sexual nature, but a well-crafted movie, if not overdone.

Date Night:
Short, fun movie with some good cameos.

Quote
Splice - It was okay.  The female doctor plays the prototypical "Eve" role.  She wants to taste the forbidden fruit regardless of the consequences.  You'll want to punch her in the face the whole movie.
Too bad, I like Sara Polly.
I just saw the comic book movie Superman/Batman Apocalypse. It was very good. The animation was pretty faithful to Michael Turner's artwork, which was both good and bad at times. Almost all the voices were excellent, the exception being Andre Braugher as Darkseid. The actresses that did the voices for Wonder Woman and Big Barda were fantastic.

Yeah, I thought this was probably the best of the straight-to-DVD animated flicks.  Darkseid's voice was terrible.  Batman played an intriguing role.
