Don't know how close anyone has been following this, but there are rumored to be some pretty big changes made to the movies.  Inserted characters, new dialogue, new CGI.  Also, not all of the old technical glitches have been cleaned up.

THIS REBELSCUM POSTING has a rundown of features, deleted scenes and more that will be on the Saga in BluRay.  It's pretty expansive!

Yeah.  It definitely makes the button on the hand a significant continuity flaw.

Skin?

At the end of ESB doesn't the hand come complete with fake skin?

yeah, but when Luke was shot in the hand on Jabba's Skiff there was a "wound", which became a literary device showing how similar Luke's destiny was to Vader's.

Was Luke pressing a button on his artifical hand?  Any ideas on what that's all about?

I thought it looked more like the skin was growing over, and when they abandoned that scene, they opted for the black glove, which was more symbolic.

I am looking forward to the deleted scenes in OT.  Would be cool to see the one with Luke and Bigg.

I don't listen to much in the way of DVD commentary tracks.  I've just never felt the need, personally.  But I AM irked that "From Star Wars to Jedi" didn't make it in.  It was a pretty good documentary for it's time, and I still have a copy on VHS.  Maybe for GL it focuses too much on some of the Jabba's Palace scenes that got replaced in the ROTJ Special Edition?  Because there's a big chunk that deals with the Max Rebo band and the "Laptinek" musical number.

Oh well.

I'm definitely buying this....but of course some peeves:

No OT original theatrical versions....(I know, I know, they're not the "defintive versions"  :P )

Why no Dolby 7.0?   Disney Blu-rays now offer this...

No PT actors could do audio commentary, not even Liam Neeson when they signed him up for voice work on TCW?

I get not being able to have Harrison Ford do commentary, but they couldn't get Mark Hamill?

No "From SW to Jedi" documentary...  :-\

I'd also like to have everything from the 1st OT DVD release put on this set as well, Empire of Dreams, etc...

Yes, that's my next buy. 3D - just waiting for more movies to come out for it.

By then you can get a full 3d HD setup cheap. Which by the way is sick! If you haven't tried it yet you'll be amazed!

I'll refrain from watching any of the SW movies till the BR set comes out. Can't wait!
