I've been hearing that The Hobbit toy line might start showing up at some other chains, but I've yet to see it myself.  Pakledjim might be able to offer more info, here.

I have only seen this line at TRU.  Was hoping to see at Target or Walmart.

So online order is the way to go for a decent price?

I've seen them too.  The 3 3/4" figures are pretty neat, but the 6" figures weren't doing it for me.

I assume they will release a Dwarves boxed set with all of the dwarves.

I've been seeing more and more of the 6" figure line at retail recently.  The figures look okay.  It's a little weird to see Gandalf & Legolas back on cards again, but the figures look okay.

I'm wondering if The Bridge Direct is hedging their bets on the scale front.  They've only offered up the following characters in the 6" figure line:

-Bilbo Baggins
-Gandalf the Grey
-Thorin Oakenshield
-Legolas Greenleaf
-Tauriel

Only ONE of the band of Dwarves is being offered so far.  WTF?!?!  And in the 3 3/4" line only 5 of the Dwarves are being offered.  Aren't there 13 dwarves?

I saw some of the 3 3/4" figures today at TRU.  They look alright (sculpts are pretty far off though), but at $10 a piece I didn't bother picking any up.  It looked like they had all of the first series except for Gandalf.

I've only seen one of the 6" scale figures so far, and that was Thorin Oakenshield.  The paint apps on that figure made it look like it would fit in reasonably well with the ToyBiz LOTR line.  But what was disappointing was that there was just the ONE figure on the pegs.  It didn't give me a chance to see what the 6" figure line was really about in person.

yeah although I've been getting warm fuzzy flashback feelings to about 10 years ago when LOTR figures were on the shelves I'm also reminded of how much things have changed as far as quality and price.  I think these figures would need some massive paint work to really show the sculpts behind the shine.

I saw some of the 3.75" line earlier this week.  OMG, did the Bilbo figure look AWFUL!  And the shiny plastic did not do the figure any kind of justice.

Well, they are doing both 3.75" scale figures as well as 6" scale figures, correct?  Based on how I collected the Toybiz LOTR line, which was a 6" scale, I think I'd be more inclined to go in that direction.
Yes they are doing both, and I was initially talking about the 6" as I do not collect any 3.75" figures. The 6" figures look like they tried to put more detail into them, but with a lot less articulation. The plastic they use is also very shiny. And if you read the review, the Hobbits and Dwarves will fit in, but the Legolas is much shorter that the TB one.

So did you pick up any of them Jim?  Any thoughts?
No, I didn't pick any up, I'm going to hold off for now. They just didn't spark my interest as much as the Toy Biz ones did. Although I'll probably pick them up eventually. And even though I don't collect 3 3/4" I was a bit disappointed at the Biblo figure, looks more like Samwise Gamgee than Bibo.
