I was using shoe boxes, too.  But they're all varying sizes, and the lids don't stay on securely.  And when you start stacking them it's just a recipe for disaster.  Because when they topple over and things spill out?  OMG.

It's sandwich baggies and shoe boxes for me.  Mostly split the figures by Episode, EU source, etc.

Storing & Organizing Loose Figures
« Reply #1 on: December 06, 2012, 09:26:35 AM »

As I'm working towards getting my collection ready for the build-out of my collection room, I've begun de-carding a number of figures and getting them into storage bins.  This begs the question:  how are you storing your loose figures?

For me it's turned into quite the process.  How to store them?  And how to break things down to the point where it's manageable?

I found these Sterilite boxes at Target.  They run about $3 and change each, and I can easily fit at least 20 figures into each one.

So the next question is how to break things down in terms of which figures go in which box?  My eventual goal with displaying my collection is to build scenes from the movies / EU sources.  But some of those scenes have HUGE numbers of charactes involved.

Your input on storage / displaying would be very helpful!
