Sad news in the Star Trek world as the next film gets set to be released soon.  Actor Anton Yelchin has died in a freak car accident at the age of 27.

I saw it Wednesday night in IMAX and I thought it was great.

I can understand a Star Trek purist being turned off by these Abrams' films but I'm no Trek purist.  What he's able to accomplish with these films gives me hope that Episode VII will be fantastic.

Precisely John.  I am glad Abram is doing EP 7.  He bring emotions to the characters that seem lacking from Lucas.

I saw it too, liked it as well but not as much as the first.  I liked how he basically erased the history of star trek in the last one so he could make everything new and different.  I think this one sets things up for future films obviously as well, I think were looking at more then just 3 here!  I'm thinking 6 at minimum.

I liked this better than the first one.  They did some interesting things with characters and role reversals.

First...surprised there wasn't a thread for this movie already...

Secondly...the latest trailer, really looks familiar stylistically.  ;D
