Loved it.  Very entertaining and the nostalgia/80's references were fantastic.

The scariest thing that I've ever seen,
is the terrible AT-AT walking machine.
It's as big as a house on walking legs,
and whatever it steps on it crushes like eggs.

Stranger Things

Its a Netflix series set in 1983.  I'm three episodes in so far.  It's decent.  Has a lot of Dungeons and Dragons stuff and some Star Wars.  Wynona Ryder is off her shnikey in it.

Saw this as well. It's not bad and gets better as each episode goes on.

I've been checking out 'Billions' on Showtime.  It's proven to be pretty interesting.  Damian Lewis seems to be great in just about everything he does, and this show is no exception as he plays a billionaire hedge fund executive who came from nothing.  And Paul Giammatti is excellent as the U.S. Attorney for the southern district of New York, who goes after high profile insider trading cases.  The performances are awesome, and the story is pretty relevant to what's going on with Wall Street today.

The latest show I've been checking out?

The Man in the High Castle on Amazon.  This series is another Amazon original, based on the novel by Philip K. Dick.  The story is an alternate history in which Franklin D. Roosevelt was assassinated in the early 1930's.  The United States founders without his leadership, and the allies lose World War II to the Axis Powers.  Germany and Japan invade North America and split the country.  The territory to the west of the Rockies becomes known as the Japanese Pacific States, and the territory east of the Rockies is under Nazi control, as part of the Greater Nazi Reich.  The Rocky Mountains serve as a neutral zone between the Japanese and German territories.

All told, it's a pretty interesting story, albeit quite grim.  Life for Americans under the occupying powers is not easy.  But it makes for a pretty compelling story.  And plenty of Philip K. Dick's work has been adapted for film or television.  Blade Runner, The Adjustment Bureau, Total Recall and Minority Report are just a few of the films that were adapted from his books.  Seeing something like this adapted into an Amazon original series is interesting, because it gives some time for the material to breathe.  I already watched the entire first season, and I'm looking forward to season 2.
